02FA0: Digital Constraints

Tuesday - Mixed Dinner

The Geeky Guide now has 115 board game reviews published, and I took the time to add the same search function to the editorials/blog page. I'll see if I can find the time to write my second long-form article within the week. If not, I figure continuing to add more reviews can only be a good thing. A lot of my frustration is still tied to Google taking forever to update the index with the new site structure and content. As far as the search engine is concerned, my blog still looks like the old site and not yet the upgraded Webflow version.

Maybe I'll try tinkering with Bing's Webmaster tools in the interim to see how long it takes them to index the updated site. And I know I read somewhere that the likes of DuckDuckGo mirrors the Bing index, so that might be something. It'll give me something to do while waiting for Google, at least.

Side realization: I think Amazon Comics (formerly comiXology) has region-locked most sales as of late. It's been a long time since I've seen a $0.99 per issue sale or a Buy-One-Get-One sale, despite my checking the site pretty much daily. And while getting my comics digitally as "back issues" is still cheaper than getting them in print (plus I earn more credit card rewards points), it's still sad that the offers no longer seem to apply to the Philippines. I always tried to be smart when it came to digital content purchases by waiting for sales as much as possible. This means I'll have to pay more for the priority titles I really want to read, but I'll try to delay the process as long as possible. Admittedly, I've acquired WAY too many books across the different sales over the years, and it's not like I'm wanting for content to read.

I'm still finding books on sale, at least, including the monthly Star Trek eBook deals. So I'll count my blessings for now.

We're getting a massage again tonight. Then I'll aim to relax and catch up on my reading after clearing another night's worth of O Bar videos yesterday.
