We're working through the requirements to apply for a tourist visa for South Korea, and Tobie and I are subject to two different tiers of requirements. As much as we're both BPI credit card holders, only my card qualifies for reduced requirements, while Tobie's blue card affords no such benefits. Even if I had extended a supplementary card to him, the embassy only recognizes legal family members to extend the benefit. Then, since there is no legal union recognized between us, there's also no direct benefit to submitting our applications together, although we'll still do so since we'll share the same travel itinerary and such.
But yeah, the small reminders that we're still two single men living together, as far as Philippine law is concerned.
Tobie worked on his bank docs today, and we made sure to get the correct passport photos taken at SM BF as well. Once everything is ready, we'll just need to get stuff printed, then submit our applications. The current 14-working-day processing time means that I'll lose access to my passport for pretty much the whole month, which will delay my rough plans to visit Singapore before the end of the quarter.
In other news, Tobie's recent medical checkup has resulted in the need for some lifestyle changes to mitigate the risk of more serious conditions. Given how Tobie fully supported me when I had to shift to keto, I'm doing my best to do the same for him. We're making a lot of changes for how we eat at the Sietch in order to allow for indulgences for both us while at O Bar. It made tonight's supermarket supply run rather interesting, to say the least. We had already settled our grocery needs at the kadiwa market yesterday, so today was more about studying the nutrition labels of different things while evaluating what substitutions to make.
I've already been regretting the fact that I've largely fallen off the keto wagon since we moved to ParaƱaque last year, and this feels like as good an opportunity as any to make some positive changes. The intersection between my keto goals and what Tobie needs isn't the most exciting list of options, but we figure that we'll be stricter in the short term until we get his levels to better levels. Then we can reintroduce some modest indulgences here and there, but only in moderation.
March is off to a very interesting start.
