02F9E: Celebrations of All Kinds

Sunday - Ortigas Cat

Last night's Bayan at Sining event at O Bar was lovely. It was designed to be a joint celebration of National Arts Month and the Edsa People Power Revolution, and featured a wonderful mix of cultural performances alongside O Bar's signature brand of drag. The O Boys even had a whole new dance number - something we haven't gotten in a while, given how busy things have been in recent months.

I'm glad that we had a full table for a change and were joined by some good friends at the time. As much as most of our attention is focused on the show, the whole experience is made a lot better in the company of friends who share our love for O Bar performances. It has been quite a struggle to get our "usual suspects" back to the table as of late, and it seems this isn't going to change any time soon. Our Bar schedules just never seem to align with most friends' availability, and so we keep casting wider and wider nets to find people to join us for the night. I hope things turn around soon.

We're going to keep going to O Bar as often as we reasonably can while our bodies can handle the rigors of the nightlife. But I know that our love for O Bar is a bit unique even among our friends. But can you blame us? O Bar has played an important role in our shared life as a couple and we'll never tire of celebrating all those that make the bar's magic possible, nor will we stop trying to get more people to join us and experience that magic with us.

As for the rest of today...

Shortly after getting home this morning, we managed to catch the Kadiwa Market in the village. We used to think it was just a weekly thing, but I guess scheduling has been changed to weekly, which is great. We picked up some great vegetables at nearly half the cost of what we would get at the supermarket, with the added benefit of providing some more direct aid to independent farmers. We're going to do our best to patronize the market every week since it feels like the smarter and also more ethical choice. Plus, one cannot deny the quality of the fresh produce is much better than what we've been getting at SM BF.

We lost most of today to rest and recovery, but we at least kept up the habit of walking around the village after dinner. It's a very modest form of exercise for general health, at least. And instead of going out to O Bar tonight, I'm trying to catch up on my video processing queue. That and watching the second half of the latest season of Bridgerton
