So instead of working on O Bar videos or working on the Geeky Guide, we ended up playing board games online via Board Game Arena while a friend was packing for her trip. We got through a good number of games within a limited period of time, which made for a great night.
Let's go over the list!
We started with Tapestry, especially since BGA now has the rebalanced civilizations in beta. Then we tested the BGA implementation of Tacta, which turned out to be pretty good, although severely mathematically accurate. Then we went back to a heavier game of Earth, complete with the Abundance expansion, which is also available on BGA. Our last cycle of lighter to heavy was Let's Go! To Japan (always a favorite), followed by Apiary, which I continue to do terribly at for some reason. The tailend of the night consisted of a bunch of lighter games, including Incan Gold, Flip 7, Hanabi, and Concept. A special goes out to how BGA implemented Hanabi - it's probably a little "easier" versus playing in person because you never "forget" what clues have been given to you.
I said I wanted to get some bank stuff done today, and I did! I got up around noon, and after brunch, I made visits to both BPI and Unionbank. They had rather different approaches to handling my address update. BPI's queue mixed regular transactions with customer transactions, but things were processed speedily enough. Unionbank seemed more impressive up front since I even keyed in the new address on an iPad before joining the queue, but I still had to wait for the customer service people on the side, which took forever.
Side note: I only need to do bank things in person every few years, and almost every time, they ask me to update my signature on record since whatever I'm doing now never seems to match their records to their satisfaction. I know my signature is crap, but this exercise stresses this even more. Take a bad signature and a greater reliance on digital transactions, and you end up with a guy who isn't very good at handling a pen for writing anymore.
I've processed a night's worth of O Bar videos, at least. I'll see what else I can squeeze into tonight before I need to sleep. There's work again tomorrow, after all.
