02F8D: 2 Good Things

Thursday - Tahanan Lunch

Today was not the best computer day for me. I guess the Windows update installed this week has changed the "balance" of things, and my system is dealing with the slight changes in whatever makes this run in the background. I still got things done, but there were some painful moments, especially since I had a few meetings today. I even had to share my screen for one, which tends to send my instance of the virtual office into a tizzy. Such a fun day haha.

In contrast, two happier bits of news.

Jim Henson's Labyrinth: The Board Game - Humongous Miniature

First, our copy of the 40th Anniversary Collector's Edition of Jim Henson's Labyrinth: The Board Game arrived today. Technically, it was more the big storage box and some expansion content we didn't already have because we own a copy of the base game. It didn't take too long to sort the components into the accompanying trays - the end result is pretty impressive. It's hardly one of the best games out there, but it's a lovely collectible, especially with all the unique miniatures. I think we'll try bringing this with us to our next game night, mainly to celebrate the novelty of the set with friends.

Second, today is NetRunner Night, the quasi-anniversary of the first time Tobie and I hung out together in person. I could say it's also the 17th anniversary of the first time we met, although that gets a little complicated from a technical standpoint. We each have photos of one another from before we ever interacted with one another, but I can't say that we had met at that time.

And while not keto, the "traditional" way of celebrating today is by ordering Shakey's Pizza Bianca, because that's what we had the very first time we met up to play the original NetRunner card game, because our geekiness connected us right from the start. We just had a small one for dinner, but no accompanying fried chicken or Red Horse beer this time around. Our actually anniversary of being together as a couple is later on in November, but it's fun to mark this day every year as well.
