When one of the O Bar performers invited us to celebrate his wedding, I wasn't quite sure we'd be able to go. First, it was scheduled for a Friday, as we'd both need to get out of work for the day. Second, Antipolo is FAR, even when we were still living in BGC. But all that was balanced against the fact that he had asked so nicely (and quite formally), and it's hard to say no to an invitation like that.
We repeatedly went back to mapping out how we'd get to the location throughout the week. We were worried about parking and had initially considered going to the nearby SM, then get a ride from there. But when we actually got underway, we got worried about how late we were given end of week traffic, so we asked if there was somewhere nearby to park. Thankfully, there was an option, so we routed directly to his house. There were a few a familiar faces, which made things more fun and it was just a happy afternoon.
After all that, we had to make our way back South before traffic got even worse. Plus, I needed to take a call for work and I didn't want to bother people at the celebration. It took about as long to get to the location as it did to get back, which meant a lot of driving for Tobie.
By the time we got back to Paranaque, it was late enough for an early dinner. So we drove into BF in search of a place to eat, which is always a challenge. Thankfully, we finally got to try one of the smaller Japanese Izakaya restaurants that we've been meaning to try for some time as there was finally available parking. The food was okay, but a little pricey for what we got. I wish they accepted credit card payments, as I'm still looking to generate charges on my new Unionbank card. We may go back again, but it's not a priority venue for us just yet.
Tonight should be a chill game night as were introducing a friend to the world of board games. The heavier board games can wait for tomorrow.
