We've been living in Parañaque for almost a year now, but we still haven't established a regular circle of "local" gamers. And "nearby" is probably best defined as people who don't need to pass toll gates to get to the Sietch. We have met some new people to game with, but they're will folks based on QC or Laguna for some reason.
Last night we got to game with someone from Las Piñas, which is relatively nearer versus most others. He didn't have a lot of time to spare, but we got a few solid games in to welcome him back to gaming that doesn't involve Exploding Kittens. We started with Flip 7, followed by Square One, and finally A Place for All My Books. As I write this blog post, I have belatedly realized that I won all three games yesterday haha
We wrapped up before 02:00am, which is relatively early versus most of our Saturday game nights, but at least we had fun. Tobie and I ended up watching more episodes of the latest season of Culinary Class Wars. I had initially hoped to get more O Bar videos processed as the same time, but this season has been kinda bonkers, which makes for very gripping watching.
One of our ongoing RPG campaigns is going on temporary hiatus as we figure out players moving forward. That has left some empty Sundays in our schedule, so we'll see how to handle that in the near future.
One such Sunday is today, but we managed to arrange a last-minute game schedule with another new player we're trying out. Alas, he's very much not local, so he had to spend a better part of the afternoon commuting here. Oh the lengths people will go for board games, I guess? But we appreciate everyone who makes the time to game with us at the Sietch.
Any gaming is good at this point, especially with many still in holiday mode. We'll see how schedules stabilize in the weeks to come.
