02F56: Chill Friday

Friday - Sleepy Dougie

I still had work today, but I also had the nephews. So I woke up to the older nephew watching his videos beside me, and he was later joined by the younger one, who decided he had many, many videos he needed to show me. And I had to pay attention to each video because he had running commentary and questions. I know what I signed up for by choosing to sleep in their room.

There was a fair amount of work that needed to be addressed, including a final interview that I had to conduct, but thankfully, the boys weren't too much of a distraction. But I had somehow clocked a good 8k steps by the time we finally left the house to join the parents for dinner. I know a fair amount of it was due to my regular pacing and such, but I assume the excess came from trying to keep up with two young boys.

I have nothing overly exciting to share about this trip, at least from a more touristy perspective. As is the way of things whenever I'm in Singapore...I'm really part of the household. As a family, we're home bodies by nature with a strong proclivity for indoor activities. The main thing that'll drag us out is the need to help the boys burn off excess energy and maybe to catch a good meal nearby. But who knows, we're here just over a week, and that opens the door for more activities.

We're keeping things a little loose in terms of planning, so there's no fixed agenda just yet. But there do seem to be items of interest on different lists, so we'll see how this all pans out. I'm going to squeeze in as much reading as I can in between activities because I still need to catch up for my end-of-year goal.
