I have checked in for my flight, paid my travel tax online, completed my eTravel submission, and filled out the Singapore Arrival Card. I managed a pre-flight load of laundry today with most of Tobie's shirts and all of our socks and underwear so that I have sufficient stuff to pack tomorrow morning. It's only a 9-day trip, but you know how it is.
The real priority is making sure that I'm able to fit all my gifts into my luggage together with my clothes. It's not like I have a crazy number of gifts, but some of the toys that I got for the nephews are awkwardly large, so that's going to be fun to pack. This is a uniquely Christmas problem, especially when travel is involved. Your gifts also need to be travel-friendly...or you buy your gifts at the destination. I went for the first option - mostly.
On the list I haven't done (and won't be able to do) is a very weird item - I chipped my glasses somehow. I only noticed it Monday morning, but I don't remember when I dropped my glasses. I have a selfie from Friday morning that shows the glasses are still intact. On Saturday, I wore contact lenses to the O Bar anniversary event. I know I saw something at the corner of my glasses on Sunday, but at the time, I just thought it was water, so I quickly wiped the area and put my glasses on without thinking about it. But that kind of circular indentation is definitely impact-related, which is even funnier since I know I paid for slightly more impact-resistant material. Then again, I've had this pair for quite a while, and I'm probably due for a replacement anyway.
The other thing I haven't handled is the Lego Star Trek Enterprise-D set that's still in its box. I didn't expect to have time to put it together, but it would have been nice to do so. I also haven't had time to pass by the LEGO store at Ayala Malls Manila Bay to pick up the Gift With Purchase Shuttlepod. That'll all have to wait for when I get back from this trip.
And I don't think I'll be able to fully clear the laundry before I go, either. Annoying.
I was about to wrap up this blog post when I remembered to check if my Singtel Prepaid SIM was still active. I've generally kept it alive by topping up once a quarter, but it has been a bit of a while since my last trip. True enough, the SIM appears to be dead. But they now have a tourist eSIM, so I've signed up for that and should be good for this trip. Let's see if I can keep this SIM alive for a longer period of time.
