02F24: Recovery Thursday

Thursday - Blokees Transformers One Soundwave

Tobie is doing much better today versus yesterday, which is great given the long weekend ahead. It would be a bit of a waste if he ended up being sick on the day off I filed for work, since tomorrow is not a work holiday for us. While the fever has broken, he still has the sniffles, so that's still some cause for concern. Ultimately, it's good he called in sick yesterday and dedicated the day to full rest and recovery.

In other news (related to my blog header image for today), my Blokees Transformers arrived. I had been holding off on the whole Blokees craze since my love for Soundwave isn't strong enough for me to dive into blind boxes. But it turns out they have some larger figures that aren't random, thus I now have a Transformers One version of Soundwave, along with a more classic G1 Soundwave. Good times. This is as close as I've ever gotten to assembling something like a Gundam, and I see that this hobby is meant to simulate the life of a factory worker assembling toys like this. My fingers are all tingly from assembling the free Silver Tracker and TF One Soundwave, but the results are quite awesome nonetheless.

I've started work on the bigger G1 figure, but I don't think I'll be able to finish it tonight before we head off to O Bar. And yes, of course, we're going to O Bar, given tomorrow is a local holiday. Is anyone actually surprised by this little detail of our itinerary?

Last notes - active shows! We're really enjoying Under the Queen's Umbrella - it feels like a Korean Houses of the Blooded or something. Then we've just gotten started on the new season of The Diplomat, and it's SO good so far. We also wrapped up the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building, and it looks like the show has been confirmed for a sixth. We're crawling through the second season of One Punch Man in preparation for the infamous third season and there are a ridiculous number of other anime series that we need to get back to now that they have new seasons active.
