02F1A: Self-Care Holiday

Monday - Shima Bento

Since I didn't have work for the Deepavali holiday in Singapore, Tobie filed leave so we could enjoy the day together. Not all of our holidays align given our different jobs, so it helps to nudge things a bit in order to get a shared day off.

We went to O Bar last night and had a good time. There were a few familiar faces, which is always something to lookg forward to. And the actual show was solid as always. There's no place like H⭕ME after all.

We slept in as much as we could, but we had also set a foot spa appointment at 11am, so there were limits. Our session was just at a nail salon right outside the village that we had tried on a whim last month. This has replaced The Secret Lounge as my default place for theset things because my toes are monstrous and need professional help.

We had agreed on this schedule since it meant we could go straight to lunch after. We finally got to try this Japanese restasurant that Tobie had found interesting on social. We had swung by at least one other time but there were no available parking slots. This time we were luckier and were like the second table occupied at the restaurant. The food was pretty good and the portions quite generous. Service wasn't the most stellar, but maybe it was also an offpeak time with only one server on duty. Still, I'd totally go back. The food rather reminded me of Nemoto back in Pasay. Man, it has been YEARS since we last ate there. I wonder if it's still operating.

Our last activity for the day was getting a massage. We tried a new therapist and he was pretty decent. And I guess he was skilled enough to help Tobie relax enough to go to bed very early. But then again, we didn't quite get enough sleep after O Bar, so extra sleep is a necessary gift.

Back to work tomorrow. It's going to be a compressed workweek for us given today's day off.
