Despite it being the start of our long weekend, Tobie and I woke up as if it was a work today - and we didn't even set any alarms. The fact that we didn't stay up all night was probably a factor. Bodies are great at maintaining routines that follow normal daytime patterns.
Since we had the time, we ended up watching the new Netflix movie of The Twits. While the book the movie is based on isn't among my favorite Roald Dahl titles, I still had somewhat hopeful expectations. I can see how elements of the book made it into the movie, but the overall narrative was so...different. I tried to keep an open mind, but ultimately I didn't like it. Such a waste of Dahl's unique characters and storytelling sensibilities.
The highlight for the day is our monthly game night with our big gaming group. Since we were awake early, we ended up being the first to arrive for a change. We generally come on time, but living in ParaƱaque gets in the way of our desire to show up earlier in order to get more games in. We didn't have to wait too long for another gaming friend to arrive, so we could start playing. And things have been geekily continuing on this track since then.
My phone downloaded an update while I was composing this blog, and that slowed everything you a crawl. I guess that's all I'm writing about for now.
