This weekend, international queens from Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale were at O Bar to watch the show. We didn't make an effort to try to talk to them or take photos because we were occupied with something more important.
We were surprised to see a former O Boy at the bar - he was there as a customer with some friends, and we were so happy to see him again. We weren't sure if the rest of the boys knew he was around, but it did make for some fun moments on stage when they did realize he was dancing along to the show in the audience. And later that night, another former O Boy showed up, and so we had a full-on reunion of sorts happening. The show was still a lot of fun, but I could feel we were all waiting for things to wrap up so all the boys could reconnect some more after the show.
Regular readers of this blog and O Bar friends know that we're big supporters of the O Boys. We love the O Divas, of course, and they're still the main draw for the bar. But O Boys will always feel like the unsung heroes of the O Bar stage as they help add that extra oomph to any performance. And they work so hard to learn so many different dances to support the different queens, so we'll always do our best to help shine a spotlight on their efforts.
Our table became O Boys Central for a bit, and it was just fun to watch them all joking around, catching up on stories, and just being happy to be together. This didn't even last all that long, as they were still tired and needed to wrap up for the night, but it was also kinda magical. It may not have been every single O Boy gathered together, but it was still quite a lot.
This was one of the highlights of the weekend - maybe even the month.
These guys deserve more magical moments.
