02EFF: Compound Weather

Tuesday - Tahanan Sinigang

Super typhoon Ragasa/Nando is well outside the country's area of responsibility, but it has left a lot of rain in its wake. Between strong winds and bouts of rain, things were bad enough to include our internet going offline a few times despite my two-ISP setup. The weather agency is still monitoring typhoon Neoguri in the West Pacific, but now it seems tropical depression Opong is becoming the more immediate threat, with a projected landfall on Friday. It's going to be a very wet weekend, one way or another. We do have an O Bar night planned for Saturday, so hopefully things won't be too complicated by then.

Cue all the usual complaints. I haven't done laundry in a while, and the hamper is looking more full than I'd like. As much as I could use the dryer function of our 2-in-1 washing machine, I'm still trying to hold out for a few solid hours of sunlight so I can run a load and dry it properly. The Sietch is running very low on supplies, and we haven't braved the weather for a grocery run, which has resulted in an overreliance on online food delivery services. It's not the most cost-efficient way to eat, but it's pretty darned convenient. I'll consider doing an online grocery order instead of a food order, provided the weather isn't too crazy. But then, if it's calm enough for me and Tobie to head out to the supermarket, then that's the more likely outcome.

I am terribly snacky as of late, which probably isn't a good thing. The main barrier to more snacking is the distinct lack of food at the Sietch. We have some takeout from O Bar that might be worth dipping into, but I'm also trying to better manage my eating again and work my way towards being properly keto soon. It's a little harder than I'd like, given what our life in ParaƱaque is like, but I'll figure it out.
