It's our big monthly game night tonight, although it has to been a month since the last one. The nature of juggling the schedules of group means we only had to wait 2 weeks for this game night. Our next one will end up being a little over a month as a consequence.
We brought a number of new games with us for this session, including Railroad Tiles and Raising Robots. We also had a friend's copy of Wondrous Creatures that they lent to us to study that we were all determined to get to the game table. I also had a game waiting for me that a friend had picked up on our behalf - the Origame Chock-a-Block. Add in all the other games we packed and there's certainly no shortage of games to play tonight.
On the drive over, I made sure to hit our family book club KPI. I missed the last meeting because our game night ended later than planned and I didn't wake up in time. I'm determined to catch tomorrow's session, otherwise I know my family is going to give me (well-deserved) flak for it. I'm generally ready for the meeting - but I think we're all not that enthused by our current book. But that's the nature of book clubs - we never really know how good a book is going to be until we actually start reading it.
We're also watching - Walang Aray. I've heard great things about it over the years but it's only now that we're getting a chance to see it. The only complication is that it's a PETA play, so the venue is all the way in QC and the area is notorious for lousy parking options. We scheduled an evening show instead of our usual matinée to buffer extra time to secure parking. Wish us luck!
