02EF1: A Better Day

Tuesday - Chicken Poppers & Cabbagge

I woke up an hour before my first alarm, but I didn't feel bad about it. Given how yesterday had been rather crummy, I was determined to make this a better day, so I got right into things. I had my second load of laundry from yesterday that I didn't get to hang, and I immediately set about getting it under the still-rising sun so it would stand the best chance of drying. I also ran our bedsheets and heavy towels in a cycle as it felt early enough to go for it. And I indulged by ordering us Cheesy Eggdesals for breakfast just to put me in a better mood. I think it all worked because things started out great.

Work was productive, and I got a fair amount of things done. There are still some lingering questions from yesterday, and I'll try tackling them tomorrow. We also had a meeting to discuss an in-person workshop we're conducting next week, and I realize that's going to affect our weekend plans since I'll need to get to Makati bright and early on Monday morning. Life.

I'm more caught up on my reading since I decided to blitz through the recent Black Cat series of comics along with a few more volumes of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga. I'm still a little behind, but at least it's not as bad as before. Cue the trashy gay romances again as I focus on tracking completed titles alongside my heavier stuff.

My other source of amusement today is creating potential Commander decks - at least for online play. Previously, I had made a Sliver deck (so dangerous), and a deck built around the limited Soundwave card from The Brothers' War expansion, although it's a rather finicky token deck. My recent efforts to bolster that deck with Myr had me exploring creating a pure Myr deck. That didn't feel as interesting as something like the Sliver deck, but it was an interesting exercise. This led me to create a Thopter deck, and this one feels a lot more fulfilling. My strict focus on theme versus function is resulting in some rather zany decks, but they do end up feeling quite fun.

Now I have some time to work on more O Bar videos again. It'll be a nice way to wrap up the night.
