02EEC: More Progress

Thursday - Tahanan Sinigang

I can finally get my hand above my head again, although it takes a bit of effort to keep it up there. I'll continue to exercise at home to work on my mobility and build up strength again. It all seems very promising indeed. I still feel some sort bits when I do pendulum swings, but at least I can get my hand fully up the wall. Slowly but surely.

I've been leveraging Google Gemini for a few work items this week, and it has been an interesting experience. It's easy to dismiss a lot of generative AI output as lazy work since you can input a query and get an answer back rather quickly. But when it comes to making something substantial, I find that you end up needing to have a longer conversation with whichever AI tool you're using because the initial output is rarely enough. The really high-quality stuff comes out through refinement, and the user still reviewing everything that is generated and working with the AI tool to refine it - or making the changes yourself. Then you feed back those changes into the tool in order to refine things further. So even leveraging an AI can take a lot of work - at least if you make sure what comes out is up to your personal standards. But I do appreciate the process, as it can feel like having a dedicated resource to bounce ideas off of. In that sense, you really need to treat the AI like an assistant - it can only help you with your work, but you can't trust it to be solely responsible for what comes out.

We finally finished I Am Not A Robot today, and it was...quaint. Admittedly, we ended up rushing through the last few episodes since I was determined to get to the "happier" part after so much drama in the middle. It's not going to be among our favorite K-Dramas, but it was certainly enjoyable.
