02EC9: Almost Over

Thursday - Dutch Colony Breakfast

As much as I could bring my laptop out to compose today's blog post, I'm writing this on my phone. This could be more effort, or maybe not. I'm just a little tired.

We had a lot going on at work today. I thought I'd be able to focus on the first half of our annual company summit (think strategy and planning, but with a hackathon). However, we had a number of important follow-ups for various proposals and quotations that we had sent out, so I ended up trying to wrap my head around that alongside the other stuff. And then I ended my day with some ads-related work because why not right? Who doesn't need more number crunching at the end of their workday?

And thus I'm leaving my laptop alone for now.

I have one more full day in Singapore left for this trip and that always feels bittersweet. I'm eager to get home to Tobie and the Sietch, but I'm also sad that my time with my family here is ending. I've reached a very comfortable place with the nephews where I'm a fully accepted part of their lives, so they think nothing of asking for my help with things or just plain ordering me around. They're quite the handful at times, but that's part of the fun of things, so I'm not complaining. It's one thing to be the Uncle on the screen and another to be the one who had to rub the ouchie away.

Once more day.
