After work today, we got to bring the boys to the revamped Singapore Oceanarium. The nephews are pretty big on aquariums, and it's always a delight to see them enjoying the different exhibits. In fact, the last time I had been here had also been with the nephews, so I had a point of comparison. The bulk of the oceanarium experience wasn't too different from before, but they did try to expand some of the more cramped areas and not have particular tanks feel like they were overcrowded with fish.
The real joy of the experience was listening to the kids talk about the exhibits. Random factoids were shared by one or the other. The younger one made sure to point out to everyone that the fish were pooping. And I'd often find the older one taking my hand as we moved from exhibit to exhibit. I love how my sister has gotten the boys used to the question "What do you see?" It may not seem like much, but there's something about it that feels so comforting - and you see that in how the boys readily answer in their own way. I get to ask the question too, and get rewarded with some very colorful observations.
It has been quite a busy trip workwise, but I'm super glad that we still had time for things like this. I don't need to go out and about Singapore on my own, really. I just want more awesome moments with them.
