02EC7: Tuesday Talking Points

Tuesday - Hawker Dinner

Another big meeting out of the way. More work is in store for all of us. The wheel keeps grinding along, and we only have each other to rely on to get all this working. But I believe in the team. We have a lot of good things ahead for as long as we stay the course and do our best. But man, there's still a long way to go, and we've been at this for like two years now. And by "this", I mean this rather deliberate effort to improve things and not just getting through the day-to-day on and on and on again. But I still believe in the team as they make the work all the more meaningful, whether they realize it or not.

The second book in the Red Rising series of books is turning out to be a lot better than the first. It's less Hunger Games and more Ender's Game, maybe. Or what really matters is that you can really feel the story has a clear direction it's headed towards and a larger goal that feels more tangible than it did in the first book. It can still go either way, but for now it's leaning towards being a pretty solid experience.

I'm feeling a little guilty about my O Bar video queue. I began this trip with three nights' worth of videos, and that queue remains untouched. To be fair, it has been a very busy trip, and I haven't really had a lot of time to work on them. Nor do I have an ideal working setup for video processing, as I have Uncle duties that tend to take precedence over most other things. It's going to take a fair amount of catch-up work to bring things back in line...and that's all like a moving goal post since we will inevitably go to O Bar once I'm back and will continue to go on a regular basis, which all just keep adding more videos to the queue. We'll see if I can squeeze in some processing before this trip is over...but I really doubt it.

But that's all fine. Family time in Singapore is quite precious and I know I'm going to regret wasting any of my potential time with the boys once I'm back in Manila.
