This is going to be a VERY busy workweek, and the main reason for my flight. This week includes our two-part quarterly leadership meetings and our annual company summit. So yeah, there's a LOT on our plate on top of our usual work, and it's an interesting time overall, to say the very least.
I've read a lot of business books over the last year or so, and a lot of them repeatedly reinforce how the best companies got where they are quite slowly. It's less about flashy developments and big moves and more about consistency and deliberate action maintained over time. But MAN, it can feel like quite an effort to keep at it, even if you don't necessarily see immediate results. And we've been working on all of this quite steadily and tirelessly on top of everything else we need to do as part of our day-to-day stuff. Working on the business is never as sexy as working in the business, as that's what impacts clients more immediately. But I'd like to think we're seeing changes over time.
And that's what helps me keep going with all this. We're so different today versus two years ago and I like to think more things have changed for the better than otherwise.
Anyway, it's late. I want to read a bit more before turning in. I slept in a bit this morning and was only saved from being late by the nephews coming in and telling me it was "wake-up time" and that it was time for school. I'd like to be awake early enough to get more quality time with them before it's time for us to make our way to the office and such.
