Today definitely felt very productive. Despite many other meetings and obligations, we still cleared another final interview and many other things. Plus, Thursdays are when most people report to work over here, given we're a hybrid organization. It was nice to see so many peers in person versus just on Gather Town or Google Meet calls. There hasn't been a dull day since I flew in on Monday, so I guess I'm really getting good value for this trip, as it were.
In other news, I finally placed this trip's order for local and regional games thanks to the brilliant folks at Origame - the great minds also behind the Asian Board Games Festival. I've become a big fan of Daryl Chow's uniquely Singapore board games over the years and always to my best to continue to support the independent publisher. Plus, they've been doing great work trying to help support other board game creators and help distribute their products beyond their home countries. Thus, I'll be going home with another $100 worth of Asian Games PLUS my Kickstarter copy of Overparked, which had arrived before my trip.
The fact that I have at least one board game in hand here is quite timely since we're doing updated headshots at the office next week, and this includes a "fun" shot with a personal item. And while I always have my Kindle, I don't know how well that carries in a photo. I will end up somehow posing with the components of Overpark to represent my love for the hobby, plus I guess it makes sense to have a Singaporean board game, as we are also a Singaporean digital agency.
We have rough plans for the weekend, but I'll see how things actually unfold over the next few days. It has been quite sunny here, but we're still wary of the weather turning come Saturday, given the typhoons raging across other parts of the region. Touch wood and all that.
