So today has been as bad as could have been feared - a lot of mostly steady rain. We tried to wait it out for as long as possible before leaving the Sietch, but we remained determined to push through with today's agenda items,
The first trip was to SM Megamall for a Transformers releasing event. This is when new waves of toys arrive, and the distributor organizes things such that stock is first made available at a central location to ensure people have equal chances of getting their hands on the items. I haven't attended one of these in a long time, since our primary contact in the Transformers group helped to organize deliveries since the pandemic. But I wanted to have a chance to look for other things while there, plus it also meant being able to leverage my credit card instead of pulling from my cash.
We got to Megamall without incident beyond difficulties finding parking. We had to park all the way on the rooftop level, but at least Tobie didn't have to wait around until I settled things. I queued for the Tranformers that I wanted to get while Tobie helped me look for possible additional pasalubong for my nephews. We found a few items of interest and an unexpected Psyduck figure for me as well, so it was a good enough journey. We kept things tight and tried to get out of there ASAP in order to brave the roads to get to our game night.
Despite the rains and some partially flooded areas, we actually made it to the host house without incident. The rains continued on and off, making everyone's journeys more difficult than needed. But we were all pretty determined to game, so we stubbornly persisted.
And thus, gaming! Should the rains persist as strongly as they have thus far, we're probably going to end up being stranded together. That just translates to more board game tie really, depending on when we all finally call it a night.
