02EBC: Avoiding the Rains Somehow

Friday - Tobie Dinner

The weather has been rather gloomy today, and the rain has picked up even more tonight.  Tropical Storm WIPHA/Typhoon Crising is already beyond the Babuyan Islands as of 11:00pm tonight, so it's well on its way out. But at the same time, it has clearly enhanced precipitation in our area, and we're further south. Let's hope things are calmer tomorrow.

On that note, we've already prepared the games that we're bringing to the game night. We're still experimenting with Game Night Picks to help with game night planning. It still suffers from the challenges of any social network - getting people on the platform. Maybe if they develop a mobile app (and I recognize the significant cost implications of such a venture), that'll help with user adoption. For now, it's helpful enough since we end up with like 20 or so suggestions of what to play, and the limited voting helps set some sort of prioritization. So we end up focusing on the top ten games and go from there. This still represents more games than what we can reasonably play even across a 12-hour period.

I didn't get to do any laundry today because of the weather. I'll probably force my pre-flight laundry loads on Sunday even if I need to use the dryer to get everything fully dry. My limited pasalubongs have arrived today, and I'll pick up one more thing tomorrow when we swing by for a Transformers releasing event before the game night.

So yeah, we'll make the most of the weekend before I fly out on Monday.
