02EBB: More Rainy Days

Thursday - Tahanan Tinola

The weather is turning again, and we're getting even less sun than we did earlier this week and more rain. I had forced a load of bedsheets today, and the laundry barely escaped an afternoon shower. And since this is the week before one of my Singapore trips, I'm kind of furiously washing everything that I can so Tobie has the maximum number of clothes available to him while I'm away. He could wash his own laundry while I'm away, but I know he won't since the washing machine is one of my babies.

The other thing that is worrying us about the rain is our board game plans for the weekend. Saturday is our big monthly meet-up with our regular board game group, but the venue is rather flood-prone. If the rain lasts for any significant period of time continuously (even lighter showers), the area tends to flood. We have braved the floodwaters at least once to push through with gaming, but it's not something we'd excitedly want to repeat. So we're all studying the weather reports and hoping things won't be so bad. We could still play board games online via Board Game Arena as a backup, but I know we'll all want to play in person as much as possible.

We'll see how things progress over the next 48 hours. It's not a storm per se but a tropical depression, and it is projected to be outside our direct area of responsibility by Saturday morning. That's no guarantee it won't leave rain behind in its wake, so it's all quite iffy.

Last bit, I finally tried my copy of the digital adaptation of Dune: Imperium (with the Rise of Ix expansion) is actually quite good. I may play more solitaire games to help work on my skills or something.
