02EB2: Water Challenges

Tuesday - Tahanan Tinola

It is raining quite hard tonight. I guess this was rather inevitable given how confusing the weather has been this week. Yesterday, we kept alternating between bright sunny weather and surprise showers, and that just made my laundry efforts all the more challenging. I woke up to the bright sun and figured it was worth the gamble, and I only had to rush the clothes in once. The sun eventually re-emerged, so I risked bringing the clothes out again while I could and then had them draped on the different chairs at the Sietch for the rest of the night. I didn't need to push things today, but it probably would have been a good idea given it was mostly sunny throughout the day.

The only hiccup was the fact that we haven't had water for most of the day as well. It's a good thing the water tank got refilled early in the morning. The water cut out mid-morning, and the latest update is that it won't come back until tomorrow night. This is news by way of the village guards - the official Maynilad page has no announcements related to the current service interruption, but has announced a scheduled one on Thursday night. Talk about the conditioned helplessness of the South.

Outside of such frustrations and the usual work stuff, I've been trying to work through the different comics and books we purchased at PICOF 2025. I will admit that I spent more than I had planned, but no real regrets given the amazing creatives we've shown support for this way. So now the race is to actually read all these books and then share quick notes as a form of feedback and even advertising. A lot of these indie efforts are serious labors of love, and the least we can do is to help get the word out about these stories.

I hope you all have a safe and dry evening. The weather seems to have other ideas, but here's to hoping for the best.
