It is raining as I type this, and I hope the weather doesn't stay this way. As much as it can lead to cooler temperatures overall, it also makes a lot of other things more difficult. The first thing that comes to mind is how it immediately complicates the possibility of food delivery for dinner - it's a good thing I had already committed to cooking something tonight. Let's see how the weather goes.
We should probably rename our Friday gaming group to a Saturday gaming group, as our move south has made Fridays not quite worth the travel. Saturday gaming is preferred since we can start earlier and not end so late as to make getting home difficult. Then again, last night's session still ended past 8am, so so much for time management haha
Last night's games included the likes of Splendor Duel, Forest Shuffle, Flip 7, The Morrison Game Factory, Unconscious Mind, and finally Inventions: Evolution of Ideas. As you can see, things started relatively light, then we got quite invested in the puzzle game, and finally, we invested the rest of our time in heavier games. Trying to remember the complex rules of a Lacerday game in the wee hours of the morning is never a good idea, but we're the kind of stubborn gamers to still give it a go.
Despite the many board games we played across Friday and Saturday, I only managed to win a handful of them - particularly Rebirth, Unconscious Mind, and finally Inventions. It was often a close race between me and Tobie, as is the situation in almost any game we're both involved in. It can be a bit frustrating as it generally feels like Tobie wins more games than me just as a matter of habit, but that's also why gaming with him is always a healthy challenge and an indirect motivation to do better.
