02E9B: After All That

Sunday - Banga-salidsid

Today is Father's Day, so a special shout-out to all the dads (and father figures) out there, especially given all that you've done for the sake of your families.

Last night's O Bar Independence Day event was a lot of fun. They had brought in the Sindaw Philippines Performing Arts group, and they were particularly spectacular. Beyond their participation in the opening number, their Banga-salidsid performance was particularly jaw-dropping, even more so than their Tinikling. The drag performances were still great, of course, but the addition of these cultural performances really added something special to the night.

We're trying to rest today, although there were some unavoidable complications. The painters finally came back to address the repaired portion of our bedroom wall, so Tobie's sleep was interrupted by the need to coordinate with the workers. We had set ourselves up in the living room since we knew they'd work in the bedroom eventually - that wasn't too weird but definitely different from our usual. Tobie handled the initial stuff, then I managed to wake up after they started working, so I got to handle things from that point.

But given that plus gaming and O Bar yesterday, we just stayed home today to rest and recover. We tried watching the Cells at Work movie, which was decent. Then we finished the fourth season of For All Mankind, which was pretty solid. And tonight we're finally getting started on Severance

Finally, we tried stepping out for dinner, but did not factor in Father's Day in our dinner plans. Most restaurants in BF were full, so we ended up finally trying the nearby Ramyeon Bar for the heck of it. It was a little pricey for just having dressed up instant noodles, but it was its own kind of fun at least.
