It's Friday the 13th, but I'm not feeling particularly unlucky. Then again, I've never been big on superstitious things of that nature.
We have friends over for a special game night - well, special mainly because we committed to playing Magic: the Gathering. Board games are still our main type of tabletop fun, but Commander nights are fun too. We mainly stick to the preconstructed decks, but our range has expanded as we now have varied sets. I have the Doctor Who sets, while another has the Lord of the Rings deck. The goal today was to get a taste of some of the Bloomburrow decks. It ended up being a case of the Tobie's 13th Doctor and my Daleks facing off against squirrels and birds. Surprisingly, Tobie's Parado Power won out. The end of the match was also somewhat accelerated in favor of eating dinner before it got cold.
We'll see how many games we can squeeze in the night before everyone has to head home. I know we won't be able to game all the way until sunrise like we used to. But it'll still be a lot of fun.
Our Saturday is going to be crazy busy, but Sunday is quite empty at the moment. Then again, there are bound to be things that will need doing at home, or we can resume our efforts to play through the Mother of Frankenstein puzzle game. So many options.
