The Senate has moved to 'return' the impeachment complaint to the House. There is no clear provision in the constitution for the Senate to do this, nor was there a clear path for them to dismiss the case, as many Duterte allies were initially attempting in the Senate prior to this last amended motion. The fact that the Senate only started actually acting on the impeachment complaint despite the case having been endorsed to them by the House last February, was already a strong indicator that the majority was not eager to hear this case. But their actions today were just...disgusting.
Hay Pilipinas.
Things felt more in control at work. I had gotten past my backlog from last week, and today was just about addressing new things. I'm back to moving forward instead of just catching up, so that's a relief. I still have a lot of things I need to settle within the week, but I think I'm on track for the most part.
We got the air conditioner in the living room repaired despite the rather nasty rains today. The guys immediately determined there was a specific capacitor that had stopped working, hence the blower that actually pushes the cold air out of the machine was no longer operating. It was a surprisingly quick process, but that's the nature of these things, I suppose.
The filled-in wall was not painted today, as expected. There was some confusion with the painters sent over by the contractor, so they ended up not doing any work today. To be fair, I'm not sure if they could have handled painting the exterior wall with the rain anyway. But it's still annoying that this item hasn't been checked off our list.
Last bit, the weather has also made catching up on laundry more difficult than I'd like. I wasn't able to wash during the weekend because of Komiket and several water service interruptions. And now it's a rainy week, which is a bummer. I've had to leverage the dryer function on our machine for more urgent laundry needs, but I'll try to hold off for the rest until the weather gets better. I'm just not sure when that'll be.
