02E87: Draining Monday

Monday - Tahanan Sinigang

We had been concerned about our steadily dripping/leaky faucet and bought a replacement yesterday. But when we tried to change it ourselves...we couldn't figure out how to get the last plastic ring off. It was bracing the current faucet in place, but it was way up there in a hard-to-reach place. So today, Tobie managed to get help from the village to find a plumber, and he managed to get the faucet switched over quite easily. Amusingly, his solution was just to cut the offending plastic ring off. We had seen this suggested in a video or two, but of course, this felt like too scary a solution to attempt on our own. The new faucet seems to be working fine - no more leaks or drips. So, problem solved for now.

It was a pretty busy work Monday, but not crazily so. There were just a lot of things that we needed to follow-up on and such. But the end of the month is fast approaching, so things are going to escalate to some degree very soon.

Apart from an O Bar event on Friday, we don't have firm plans for the weekend just yet, and knowing this is kind of bothering me. We try to schedule things about a month ahead, and things just didn't pan out for this particular weekend. Whether it's game nights or O Bar nights, it has been getting harder and harder to find friends willing to participate. I understand that everyone has other things they're busy with, and that's unavoidable. But it just feels quite notable that this has been a year of struggling to pull plans together. Friends appear to be moving in increasingly different circles.

We continue on.
