Here are a few more random stories of life at the new Sietch in the South.
Every morning, birds decide to use the trees outside our window as some sort of gathering place. They just go nuts with some pretty insistent chirping and tweeting at one another. We sometimes catch this when we stay up playing board games all night, or when we get back from O Bar late (or in truth early) enough. It's just so weird given how regularly it happens. It's a bird party every morning.
There are a number of fruit trees in the property and in the neighboring properties. A number of them have branches that overhang the Sietch. Thus, throughout the day (and potentially more at night), we keep hearing things landing on the roof and rolling down. In most cases, it's fruit - or we're mostly sure it's fruit. I'm sure here and there it's like a cat jumping from house to house or whatever. But it makes for unusual noises.
Being able to sun-dry clothes (versus using a dryer) is such a weird gift. Well, I say weird only because I hadn't realized that drying something in the sun, especially in direct sunlight, seems to make your clothes somewhat stiffer? This is especially true for towels, which come out of the dryer all warm and fluffy but now feel a bit more coarse after sun drying until you wet them again. It's not necessarily bad - it's just kinda weird to me. The last time I had a chance to deal with sun-dried clothes was probably back in my grade school days - and even then, the home setup was more about indirect sunlight.
Since the car has a BF sticker again, we've been able to explore restaurants more freely in that area. But we've yet to find places that we really like - or at least places that we like that are also more keto-friendly. Thus, most of our eating out ventures have been more indulgent than intended but really can't be helped at this point. I don't know yet if we just had a lucky mix of restaurants in BGC versus here or maybe we just need to keep exploring until we find ones that we really like. I'm sure there are bound to be some gems out there.
Finally, still no regular gaming friends in the immediate area, although we'd managed to have a few almost-neighbors over at least for initial sessions. I won't call them regular until we game with them more than once and such.
