02E55: Komiket Survivors

Sunday - Komiket Komikero Battle Art

We survived Day Two at Komiket! I feel like there was a bigger crowd today versus yesterday and it was quite the experience. I'm not the best when it comes to engaging with people who visit Tobie's booth, so I focused more on making sure Tobie had everything he needed, ranging from keeping the water bottle filled and stepping out for food runs. In between, I also did the bulk of my Komiket shopping, including picking up a number of interesting volumes from celebrated creators.

Special thanks to all the friends who dropped by Tobie's booth to show their support! We love you all.

This is one of several events that Tobie will be participating in in the weeks and months to come. He's still working on the rest of the issues for Diliman Generation Now, but will be participating in different activities arranged by his publisher. I guess we'll be trekking north from the Sietch on a semi-regular basis depending on which events we actually participate in.

Also, we got to meet with the contractor this morning to consult with regarding some repairs needed at the Sietch. We were rather worried about a crack we had seen in the bedroom, but we now have a plausible explanation for what may have caused it, and they didn't seem too worried about it. They'll give us a quote, and we're aiming to schedule the actual renovations in May, given the coming Holy Week holidays. It's an important set of repairs, but apparently not an overly urgent one. And knowing that alone has been rather reassuring. We just need to hold out until May.

It has been a full weekend. I hope you all had a great one as well.
