02E49: Sietch Maintenance

Tuesday - Tahanan Lunch

I write these blogs to process my day, but I can only say so much about certain things. Over the years, I've learned to be as responsible as possible when it comes to what I write here. My life isn't an open book - you just get to read bits of it here and other places.

And so I have a lot of updates that can feel very mundane - like how I often talk about work being busy. Sometimes I leave vague references to what actually happened, but in a manner that I'm pretty sure no one will understand what I'm actually talking about. Today was another workday with a lot of things that needed to be done. And we ended the day clearing a lot of the important items.

We actually had more going on at home. We were scheduled to get the two air conditioners cleaned so that we have the option of using them, especially given how hot it's already getting as the summer draws near. It was a surprisingly quick process and we got to test out the AC units right after. The one in the living room is pretty decent, but not quite as strong as needed in order to fully cool the entire room. It's a small blessing that my usual seat is right in front of the AC so I get the brunt of it. It'll do for now - we'll explore other ways of supporting it or reinforcing the windows to keep the cold in better.

Today was also the day we had a helper clean the whole Sietch. But all of this happened during the workday, so I had to juggle things such that the cleaning didn't interfere with my work stuff. There wasn't anything too crazy - just had to move around and stay out of everyone's way as they worked.

By the end of the day we had a cleaner Sietch and two working AC units. It was a good day.

Plus we had water pretty much the whole day after the last maintenance thing.
