02E3D: Thursday Hiccups

Thursday - Tahanan Lunch

It was a regular work day again today and man was it a busy one. This month's report cycle isn't quite over yet, and I had a lot of detailed work that kept me occupied. I'll take another look at what I put together tomorrow so that I'll have fresher eyes to review things.

Our Chromecast still isn't working and Google hasn't announced an official fix or solution just yet. The limited communications that have come out only stress that we shouldn't factory reset the device, but that's about it. We're not without options - our Sony TV has dedicated apps for Netflix and YouTube at least, so that'll cover most of our entertainment needs. We just can't access things like Disney+ and Plex on the TV and will have to content ourselves to laptops and mobile devices. It's annoying but not the end of the world, but it does have me thinking about whether it's time to upgrade to non-Chromecast technology since Google is sunsetting the brand and its affiliated products. Despite its limited smart functionality, I don't think I want to replace our TV anytime soon, so some sort of an external streaming device is still the preferred way for us to stream content.

In the meantime, we'll hang on until Google resolves the current Chromecast drama and take things from there.

Beyond that, I'm just hoping that tonight's scheduled water interruption precisely follows the announced schedule. Maynilad's track record has been rather terrible this month, so I'm not exactly holding my breath. The household is as prepared for the outage as possible with the tank full and just about every water receptacle also filled with water.

Southie things.
