Today was a heavy reports day for me and my brain still feels like it's swimming in numbers. At least it involved reports that had already been designed, so it was more about pulling data and populating tables. There were some additional requests that I needed to factor in, but it wasn't anything crazy. I also had two applicant interviews to conduct and it's always tricky trying to learn as much as you can about a person in such a limited amount of time.
On the reading front, I've been trying to work my way through the Percy Jackson books. I know they're designed for much younger readers, but a lot of YA fiction tends to be pretty decent. Plus who doesn't like Greek mythology, right? Well...these books are a bit of a struggle for me. The chapters often feel like isolated adventures just strung together. And it really doesn't help that the title of each chapter pretty much spoils whatever zinger is baked into that chapter. Seriously, why are the chapters structured like that? Anyway, I've already collected the different books via various Kindle sales, so I'm committed to seeing things through. But yeah, it's not as fun as I had hoped.
Anyway, this workweek is almost over. We still have a lot of sorting and organizing to do, but at least we also have some board game time to look forward to as well.
