02DCE: Thanks Given

Friday - Mushroom Pasta

Yesterday was Thanksgiving in the US, which is not a holiday over here. But let's give thanks for things anyway.

I'm thankful for my family that we remain a solid unit despite being separated by distance. We leverage technology to the hilt to stay connected and I love how we continue to keep our family book club alive. Some things are changing on this front and we're all rolling with the punches.

I'm thankful for my job and the company we've managed to keep running all this time. We've been implementing a lot of changes in an effort to help us "level up" and be better prepared for how the industry is potentially shifting. I know this means we've been asking the team for a lot, but I also feel like our sense of purpose is growing stronger than ever.

I'm thankful that O Bar is still alive and kicking and is on its way to celebrating its 19th anniversary. Our friendships with many of the performers and the staff have grown significantly stronger, which is a gift when it comes to found family. And given my recent blog posts and social activity, you know we really love our O family.

I'm thankful for our gaming friends who continue to celebrate the tabletop gaming hobby with us in som many ways. Our mouth south is going to shake things up a bit and I hope that we'll continue to find way to game together because they truly are special people.

And I'm thankful for Tobie being the most amazing human being in my life. He's my strongest pillar of support and he's my motivation for most things in life. My life changed after I met him and we continue to blaze a unique path together because we're uniquely weird that way.

No big surprises there in terms of my list of thanks. There's much more that needs to be said, but I suppose it's better to save those messages for other venues than a blog post like this. Now we just need to settle dinner before heading to O Bar for tonight's triple birthday show. We have a very busy weekend ahead of us.
