Because of our quickie Thursday escape to O Bar last night, November is looking to be one of those months where we'll be at O Bar at least once a week. We typically limit ourselves to twice-a-month visits both because of costs and just physical stamina, but one thing has led to another, and here we are.
In all honesty, we would totally be open to going to O Bar weekly on a regular basis. If anything, most people assume we already do this even if it's not the case. Heck, we would probably go every day it's open had we been younger and more capable of bouncing back after a night at the bar. We could try going without drinking and just enjoy the show, but that would feel a little weird at times. Who knows. But it's not exactly cheap to go and it's hard to gather a group to share a table with us, so here we are.
But we're so dedicated to going because we always enjoy watching the show. The combination of the vocal stylings of O2Men, the creative artistry of the O Divas, and the sheer talent and hard work of the O Boys all come together to create some true stage magic. And over the years, we've also become a lot closer to the performers, which is a whole other dimension to our O Bar experience. So we typically watch the all sets of the show and then try to wait to talk to the performers afterward.
This was a rare week where we even got to hang out with some of them outside of the context of O Bar, which is a gift in itself. Tobie and I have talked a lot about wanting to do this but always being constrained due to schedules. A bar that's open all weekend can only offer week days as rest days, which is when we're the ones who are busy with work. Plus we'd never want to bother them on their days off - I'm sure they have other things they need to busy themselves and other obligations.
We repeatedly refer to all of them as family, and they really are. Our O Bar family is very dear to us, even if there's not a whole lot we can do as customers beyond sharing our feedback, giving what tips we can, and of course taking photos and videos of their performances to share with others. It's not always a lot, but it's something. We want to see them all continue to be successful. We want to bar to go on for as long as possible. We want them to feel free to celebrate their artistry and be proud of what they achieve on the O Bar stage.
We are not going to O Bar for the remainder of this weekend despite not having firm gaming plans tonight and tomorrow. We'll just have to hold off until next week.
Maybe.
