Last night, we finished the last case in the campaign for Batman: Everybody Lies. It was...okay? I appreciate there was some interconnection between the cases, so in that sense the investigation made sense. But it also lacked a true sense of progression and character weight. One of the key aspects of the game is the unique character goals each player gets within the game. But there's no reward when correctly answer your character question during the final report despite it being a whole separate thing. At least in Dune: House Secrets, based on the same Detective system that powers the Batman game, the game had literal power-ups that added to the whole game experience. By finishing a case with a higher score, we had more resources for the next case, and so on. This didn't have that, and maybe it needed something along those lines.
That took more out of us than expected, so it became the only game we played last night. The game took a lot of brain power plus all the reading can be quite draining. And we both needed sleep since we had still gotten up early for what was supposed to be our lunch appointment that ultimately got cancelled. Such is life.
Today's focus was our Horror on the Orient Express RPG session, especially since our last session was back in September. This game is still picking up speed after we resumed after a long hiatus and scheduling is still a bit of a challenge in-between other activities. The game nearly didn't push through since our internet was misbehaving just as the game was starting - something that our internet also did yesterday. We were generally online but there would be significant drop-outs that would slow everything down to a crawl and cause our Google Meet call to die and all that. In my stubbornness to make sure the game still happened, I had us shift to my phone as a mobile hotspot instead, and that at least got things going.
Outside of that, I've at least gotten my O Bar albums as of January of this year fully processed and shared on social, for what it's worth. I just have like 10 more months to go in order to bring things current on the photo front. Then I'm maybe 2 nights behind for videos...but both are always moving goal posts every time we end up going out to O Bar again.
Anyway, that's all she wrote for Sunday.
