It's a shorter workweek, but in a different way for me. Friday is a local holiday but Singapore only has Thursday as the holiday, so things are going to be a little weird. The temptation to take Friday off is quite strong but we'll see how things go. There's still a lot that needs to get done so taking time off doesn't feel like a prudent decision. But we'll see how things go.
In a weird bit of spring cleaning, we threw out a lot of old bags last night. Since Tobie now has his Alpaka Elements Tech Brief Pro, it was time to get rid of his older bags. But then I also dug up an old messenger bag that I had been holding onto for too long and then we let go of a lot of older gym bags and such that hadn't seen use in years. With the move South looming on the horizon, it does make sense to start letting go of stuff and focusing on what we absolutely want to bring with us to the new place.
We snuck in a very rushed grocery run before our Pendragon game for the night and that went generally well. I had most of the ingredients I needed for sinigang, so that's a nice change of pace. But they didn't have all my usual banchan stuff, so I guess we won't be playing the Korean meal game this week.
This venture out became my first field test for my new Alpaka Zip Card Pouch, and it went pretty well! It's definitely a smaller wallet but not too small that it feels like it's going to fall out of my pocket at random. I'm still able to use my condo ID to get through the parking level security door without taking the card out of the pouch wallet. I just wish my credit card tap-to-pay function was still working. I finally got to talk to a BPI rep about this problem and it seems that I can't do anything without replacing the card. It's considered a voluntary card replacement if ever, so it'll cost me extra to do. But since my credit card is expiring next year anyway. I figure I might as well wait it out.
In other news, I just got confirmation that the Kindle Oasis cases I had ordered on Lazada have just left the country of origin...so it'll still take a while to get here. I love my Kindle despite its shorter battery life but I would feel better if I could get some extra protection for it. I'm also testing out using my existing Samsonite Biz2Go Crossover sling bag as my sort of EDC bag to get used to it...but I really want to get myself an Alpaka Flight Sling and use that as my EDC and travel bag. Patience for now as I try to space out these purchases.
Getting to play a whole other Pendragon campaign (still following The Great Pendragon Campaign) is a rare gift indeed. I have a chance to re-experience the story and make some very different character decisions while trying to help enable a good game experience for the other players as well. Plus it happens on particular Monday nights! Hooray for weeknight gaming.
