Today has been quite the day. Despite all my advanced preparations for my flight, I still had a major misstep and...woke up too late for my morning flight. I guess getting our flu shots yesterday took more out of us than expected as both of us slept through multiple alarms on multiple devices.
Needless to say, it was a rather expensive mistake, but nothing could really be done about it. We woke up at 7am for a 7:40am flight and that was that.
Fortunately, I did manage to get a slot on the next flight out and things were oddly uneventful compared to the fires of stress raging in my head this morning. I fully intend to study my Garmin heart rate data for today just to see how it reflected on my system.
When I did head to the airport after lunch, I had no real queues to deal with at the airport. I went straight up to the counter for travel tax. I didn't have to wait too long at bag drop and actually got to check-in at a business class counter. There were practically no queues for both Immigration and the security check. Heck, I even got to sit down at the Starbucks and conduct a full interview seated.
Maybe Wednesday afternoons at the airport are actually quite nice.
But yeah, everything else was pretty routine and now I'm prepping to join the nephews in their bedroom. The older one was still awake when I arrived and gave me a very warm greeting. The younger one will just have to deal with me when he wakes up with all of us in the same room.
It should be fun.
