We survived the first day of the Philippines International Comics Festival! Conventions are serious work and I'm glad that Tobie still decided to participate in this event and even get to formally launch his new comic Diliman Generation Now, a sort of standalone sequel to his original Diliman comic from the 90s. I say sort of since he has written the new comic to be friendly to new readers but still have additional layers of meaning for those who followed the older book.
I was really more of a back-of-house sort of person today helping to keep track of the sales, figuring out change, and trying to keep Tobie properly hydrated. I thought I'd have more time to read, but that wasn't the case at all given the need to settle various things. Plus I recorded Tobie's entire book launch interview and will see how we can use this for future promotions of the book.
In all craziness, we'll be heading out to O Bar in a bit to celebrate the birthdays of two of the regular performers at the bar. We still have a 09:00am call time tomorrow which we'll have to get to one way or another. But we'll figure it out - we always do.
I'm glad it didn't take too long for us to get home after the event. We considered just hanging out in the area before it was time to go to O Bar, but it's always better to have some quality time with your own bathroom.
