02D13: Work Moments of Joy

Thursday - Cabbage Stir Fry

Among my many tasks for the day included some quality time with Google Tag Manager. My understanding of the tool can be pretty basic at times, but I still know enough to get important things done. And I don't know why, but the time I spent working on the platform felt like one of the highlights of my day. And it's not enough that notable - it's just detailed work (as is anything that involves even basic coding) but I felt really good about it. And there's nothing wrong with that - it's nice when you find little things to celebrate within a workday. And for today, configuring a bunch of tags and their related triggers made me pretty happy for some reason. Yay.

On a related note, I'm currently reading Built to Last, which was actually written before Good to Great (which is probably the more popular book). But if you were to put them in a sequence, Great comes first. But as I read it, I totally get that this book was written first given a lot of the terms that get thrown around in Great are more thoroughly explained here. And I felt the same way about a lot of the things written in Scaling Up that made a lot more sense only after I read Great as well. But I'm not sure if I regret reading these two titles in "reverse" order instead of publishing order. Each speaks to a particular business situation and we're definitely more on our way to being something potentially great more than something already long-lasting.

I've also started experimenting with posting my business book nerdery thoughts on LinkedIn as I had previously discussed. As expected, I've gotten barely any engagement, but it still felt good to put it out there. I'll probably continue as and when something feels particularly inspiring and we'll see if that leads to anything interesting in the mid- to long-term.

Now I want to process some more O Bar videos and leave enough time to play a game or two with Tobie before bed.
