02A80: Coming Into Focus

Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 626

When I don't get to work out in the morning, the rest of my day feels a little off. It has become such an important part of my daily routine that I guess on rely on that endorphin boost to really push me forward. At best I got my steps in today, but it wasn't quite the same. Then again, my arms and lower back have been rather sore since my Saturday return to the gym and I guess a full day of rest was in order. So I just went with it.

Tobie and I stepped out after work to check out devices and to grab dinner. I've been wanting to get a new phone since my existing one is starting to act wonky and Tobie needs a new iPad because his current one is also starting to show its age. And since I hadn't been able to work out, it was also a good reason to walk around BGC some more and get more steps in.

There's something about purchasing devices that makes more sense as an in-person activity. Sure, online sellers are pretty reputable and reliable now, but it really helps to hold it in your hand to get a better sense of things. Can you really imagine carrying it around? Is the weight too much or within the range of still being comfortable? Does it feel right? Just some of the questions that may not come to a satisfactory answer until you have the item in your hand.

Then again, other questions still need regular research. These are usually the more technical questions like figuring out the precise differences between the regular and "pro" editions of a particular gadget or better understanding the battery consumption patterns that can only be determined with extensive testing. Balancing both types of information can really come together and lead to a purchasing decision.

December begins tomorrow.
