02577: Theater Planning

With the new year comes new play to consider joining and I'm already mapping out our theater plans versus our gaming plans. The two calendars tend to impact one another so it's important not to lose track of what is happening when and with whom.

We're keeping up our tradition of committin to Repertory Philippines' regular season of three plays - Comedy of Tenors, Silent Sky and Arsenic & Old Lace with option to consider the children's musical around my birthday. They're trying to get Ticketworld to figure out their discounted Season Subscription Tickets, but you still need to coordinate with Rep directly to confirm specific seats. I've also booked the big drama piece 'night Mother starring Eugene Domingo and Serry Lara that marks the end of PETA's theater season.

Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group has yet to announce their full season apart from a repeat run for the rather brilliant local staging of Kinky Boots but they do seem to be hinting to attempting to stage Waitress the musical. I'm also keeping my eyes on Lunchbox Theatricals, which is one of the touring groups in the region that tends to put on great shows. Their current line-up includes shows like The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Evita and even Cats but no Manila dates have been confirmed on their website so it's hard to say at this point.

I always look forward to watching live theater productions but I what I love even more is the fact that it's an experience I get to celebrate with Tobie.
