0301A: Friday Ups and Downs

Friday - Shima Agedashi Tofu

After work, we were hoping to try the new Singaporean-Malaysian restaurant in BF Homes for dinner, but were surprised by the significant queue outside the place. Whether that's a testament to the quality of the food or to the inefficiency of the staff during their soft launch period is hard to say. In the end, we had to postpone those plans for another day and ended up at Shima Japanese Restaurant instead.

I got to play a few rounds of MTG Commander with a friend thanks to EDH Play, and it was pretty good. Sure, my silly decks were slaughtered by the ones assembled by said friend, but at least my Tom Bombadil Saga deck managed to eke out a win. It's my own fault for bringing some pretty slow Bracket II decks to the virtual table. But that's what happens when you build decks in isolation. At least I have options for tweaking things to make them better, and more regular play sessions should help me refine my decks to make more sense. I think I'm going to junk my fungus/saproling deck for now, but see if I can salvage my mono-green dinosaur deck.

It's a Friday night, and once again, I still don't have a solid article idea for the Geeky Guide this week. I know I wanted to design a workflow where I only have to work on the site once or twice a week. But I recognize that I'm barely doing once a week these days. To be fair, June was quite busy with my Singapore trip and all the Pride activities. So I'm still playing catch-up.

At the same time, I don't want the site to consume too much time. I'm really hoping to play more games and not get stuck writing the whole night. Fingers crossed.
