So within the first 24 hours of launching the refreshed Geeky Guide, I kinda broke the site again, at least on the backend. My main source of stress is my use of Power Importer to sync my Airtable data to Webflow to actually publish content. At present I have two separate databases (with a third planned for my book reviews) and I've been trying to sync linkages between the two for a better site experience. But this seems to break the sync, even if I'm just adding a handful of new CMS items. So long story short, I've split my efforts into dedicated syncs per content type and I'll just manually program the interconnections between the two databases just to avoid further stress.
Technical rant over.
I'm watching my Google Analytics like a madman since I'm determined to do this right from the get-to. I never had clear goals for the site when it was just my hobby blog, but now I need to meet specific traffic milestones that I've set for myself. To be fair, a lot of this is stuff I've studied for work on a theoretical level in the hopes that I'd get to put things into practice one day. So here we are.
In lighter news, we got to meet up with another couple in the area who are ultimately interested in trying tabletop RPGs. But for this first game night, we stuck to some RPG-adjacent board games. We first played 2 rounds of ATLA: Crossroads of Destiny, followerd by a suitably heavy session of Tiny Epic Quest. They were a lot of fun to game with and they handled the heavier stuff pretty well on their first go-around. We've been living in ParaƱaque for over a year now and we still haven't found or cultivated a local gaming group. But we keep trying!
We're out for our big monthly game night now, but I keep wanting to tinker with the Geeky Guide, admittedly. One thing at a time.
