I took a walk after dinner tonight to help clear my head. Work was a lot and stressful in different ways, but also in the same way, and so I needed to get out of the Sietch for a bit. I've been off the exercise wagon ever since my frozen shoulder injury in August, so it was as good a time as any to get some activity in. My sister would say that I was regulating, because we now have the proper vocabulary for these sorts of behaviors. And I won't deny it, I was in need of regulation. So I made my way to the park, did two full circuits in order to hit my step goal for the day, then made my way home. I managed to clock a good 3km, which is a healthy enough distance for an impromptu walk. My heart rate was pushing 150, given the combination of my walking pace, the ups and downs of the village topography, and my less-than-ideal level of fitness. Hello 2026.
Tobie is busy running one of his mid-week online RPG sessions, so the walk felt like a really good idea. I feel a lot better after that. All the work stuff can wait until tomorrow. In the meantime, I want to put a bit more work into my project for revamping the Geeky Guide, along with my never-ending queue of O Bar videos to process. I'll always have plenty of things to do, and losing myself in these other tasks is probably another form of self-regulation on my part. At least this is also somewhat productive in their own weird way.
For the Geeky Guide, I think I need to start paying for things in order to continue to make progress. Time to buy that Webflow template and get this site rolling.
I hope you're all having a less stressful mid-week.
