So I had a fairly productive Monday morning in terms of work - a funny thing to say a few days before Christmas. I cleared some of my email backlog from Friday and got through my overdue to-do items from Friday and all that good stuff.
The afternoon became more and more family-focused as time passed. The boys had an activity in the morning, but once they got back, I slowly got pulled into Guncle duties. By mid-afternoon, I had been committed to playing this Transformers mod my sister got for Minecraft that shifts things from a crafting game to an action platformer, together with my younger nephew. He's really gotten into it, and it was only last night that we realized it was still possible for me to join his game via LAN multiplayer. The whole thing kinda tired him out by the end, so our game time ended rather abruptly.
I still haven't wrapped my Christmas presents, so I need to figure out how to squeeze that into our schedule. We are going to the mall tomorrow for a surprise brunch at East Ocean. What was actually surprising is less eating there, and more strings were pulled to make it happen. The restaurant is closing by the end of the year, and getting a table has become quite difficult. I'm glad that we're going to eat there with the whole family as part of this trip. I just need to remember to pick up wrapping paper while we're there.
It's weird that Christmas is just days away...but so is the end of this trip. The timing of everything makes my head spin a little, so I'm doing my best to staying focused on enjoying things one day at a time.
