While we wrapped up our gaming at midnight, we still got in a good amount of gaming in.
Our list of games played included Monkey Palace (Amazon affiliate link), The Fuzzies (Amazon affiliate link), Flip 7 (Amazon affiliate link), Kariba (Amazon affiliate link), 13 Animals, DroPolter (Amazon affiliate link), and finally Order Overload: Cafe (Amazon affiliate link). As much as Tobie and I really enjoy the heavy stuff, we still have a lot of these smaller games in our collection. And it's nice to find reasons to bring them out again because they're all still good fun in their own way.
We thought about getting a bite to eat before going home, but the general area around is pretty dead after midnight. As much as people abstractly talk about what food destination BF Homes can be, there's barely anything open along Aguirre in the wee hours of the morning, save for some fast food chains. So we ended up making a 7-Eleven raid, then brought our stuff home so we could relax and watch a stupid movie - in this case, Jurassic World Rebirth. The dinosaurs need to be laid to rest as fossils at this point.
This afternoon, we headed out to catch Wicked: For Good at SM BF. It's hardly the best cinema around, but it's still the nearest to us and thus the most convenient. Plus weren't expecting too much from this movie - everyone knows Act I of Wicked is the stronger "half" of the show. Their director's cinema seats were comfy enough, but there's something about the sound quality of their theaters that is terribly lacking. At least the film was clear in Cinema 2 - some of their other cinemas consistently have visual artifacts that muddy up the movie. The movie itself was just okay - nothing amazing, but I appreciate some of the new songs added, plus Chu's love for staging a memorable wedding scene.
Clearly, this is not some sort of Lord of the Rings situation where you can nominate the final part of the movie series to recognize the efforts for all adaptations of the franchise. Only movie 1 was truly memorable, I feel.
The last thing for tonight is the O Bar birthdays show of O Diva Izzy Xtra. She has a flair for performing Broadway numbers, and she has quite a love for the likes of Ariana Grande. Her birthday show last year was very Wicked-focused, and I wonder if that's going to be the case again today. Regardless, I'm sure we're going to have a great time.
